We are very conscious of postal rates and how these can affect our customers' ordering. We understand that "high shipping" is an issue and we do hear your comments. Unfortunately, we are at the mercy of the shipping services we use. We have conducted much research into rates (and continue to do so) with various shipping vendors. The US Postal Service continues to be the least expensive, combined with increased tracking reliability, and good speed of delivery.
That being said, all shipping services (UPS, FedEx, etc) are all raising their prices in January of 2016, as they do every year.
The US Postal Service just announced the PROPOSED rate increases set for January 17, 2016. While these are only "proposed" at this time, they will most likely go into effect.
Average price increases will be as follows:
-USA Priority mail = 9.8 percent increase
-USA First Class mail = 12.8 percent increase
-International Priority Mail = 10.2 percent increase
-International First Class mail = 21.6 percent increase
The main change for international packages will be with the First Class International category. Currently (2015), the US Postal Services rates are priced in 4 ounce steps. In other words:
-if your package weighs 3 ounces, we are paying for 4 ounces.
-if you package weighs 10 ounces, we are paying for 12 ounces.
This same 4 ounce step (4 oz, 8 oz, 12 oz, 1 pound, etc) rate applies up to 4 pounds. Packages over 4 pounds are not allowed for first class and must be sent by Priority Mail.
With the NEW 2016 rates, there is a BIG CHANGE in this. The new rates will now be at 8 ounces, 2 pounds, 3 pounds and 4 pounds.
In other words:
-if your package weighs 3 ounces, we will be paying for 8 ounces
-if your package weighs 10 ounces, we will be paying for 2 pounds!!!
This means that if you buy 1 little die that weighs 1 ounce, the US Postal Service will charge for 8 ounces!
We really don't like this, but there is nothing we can do about it. We know this will affect international orders in a major way.
Thank you always for your continued support.
